Beam Camp

All buildings make noise, often times… unintentionally. From squeaky floors, to echoey hallways, to wind blowing through an open window. The goal of “When Buildings Make Noise” is to use sound as a design tool to increase engagement and create a meaningful community-focused gathering space for Beam Camp participants and visitors. Through material selection, site placement and interactive acoustical
screens, the pavilion itself acts like a musical instrument. The design also balances the needs of visitors by creating spaces of interaction and engagement.
