Making Photos a Priority
Sadly enough, I only ended up with one photo of the finished project after completing the renovation at the West St. Studio. It was largely my own fault. I always thought that there would be this magical window of time after construction where everything looked great, the client hadn’t moved in yet, and I would be free to photograph all the nice little details I spent over a year working through. On top of that, the construction photos I did manage to take during CA were lost when my hard drive was corrupted. I just couldn’t win on this one. The client moved in during the end of construction, there was tension with the contractor and I never ended up getting back to take the photos I had wanted to. The lesson learned here, take way more photos. They don’t need to be perfect, but to have something to show for all the work on this job would have been great.
