OGT Residence

The OGT house was designed for a 1.5 Acre site in Ogunquit Maine, a short drive from the historic downtown center and several local beachesEach 1,800 square foot unit is individually owned and is intended for either seasonal or year-round use.

Each unit has access to both a private patio and large shared yard, which wraps the property. The vernacular gabled form and contemporary exterior material palate are balanced by warm wood millwork on the interiorThe unit configuration allows for a private bedroom, bunk room (sleeps 4-6), two bathrooms, storage space, open kitchen, living/dining room and loftThe living room opens up to the private patio and shared yard on one side while getting unobstructed light from the adjacent transom windows.

The decision to build three units on the site (as opposed to one) was based off more than just economics. Sharing spaces and amenities bring people closer. In this case, access to a big, sunny, tree-filled yard is the element that ties each unit (and the families that inhabit them) together.
